Indiana's poster for the opening of the new Colby College Art Museum, 1973
Colby ART is based on a poster that Indiana designed for the opening of the new art museum at Colby College, Waterville, Maine. These images, in which the artist placed the word "art" within a circular format for the first time, were inspired by a small ART painting in the museum's collection.
Indiana received an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree from Colby College in 1981.
