Four Diamond Peace, a diamond shaped painting comprised of four panels, measuring 68 by 68 inches overall. The panels have a primarily blue ground, although the corner of each panel facing outward is red. Each panel is dominated by a black circle with a yellow peace sign pointing towards the center of the work. Surrounding each circle is a white ring with black text. The text in each ring reads, clockwise from top: "Whoop for Peace Now," "Holler for Peace Now," "Clamor for Peace Now," and "Hoot for Peace Now."

Description

Indiana's Peace Paintings are a series of 24 works created as a response to 9/11. The works, which lament the loss of peace, are largely cyncial. Four Diamond Peace, however, is one of two paintings in the series that serves as a hopeful rallying cry for peace, exhorting the viewer to whoop, holler, clamor, and hoot for peace.
