The 72-inch red polychrome aluminum LOVE Wall, executed in 2007, consists of four LOVEs, two upright, two inverted, all facing inward with the four “O”s meeting in the center. This configuration was first seen in the 1966 painting, LOVE Wall, and was first translated into sculpture in 2006, in Cor-Ten steel.
This edition was first exhibited in Robert Indiana: Hard Edge, at Paul Kasmin Gallery, New York, September 18–November 1, 2008. It was also included in Love Long: Robert Indiana and Asia, at the Asia Society, Hong Kong, February 7–July 15, 2018 and in Love & Peace: A Robert Indiana Memorial Exhibition, at the Contemporary Art Foundation, Tokyo, November 27–December 2, 2018.
