A 96 by 96 by 48 inch polychrome aluminum sculpture spelling love, consisting the letters L and a tilted letter O on top of the letters V and E. The outsides of the letters are red, and the insides are violet.

Description

Indiana’s LOVE sculpture, conceived in 1966, has been executed in a number of color combinations, and in sizes ranging from 12 to 144 inches. Three of the sculptures from the 96-inch Red Outside Violet Inside edition are found in museum collections: Tate Modern, London, United Kingdom; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, California; and Des Moines Art Center, John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park, Iowa.
