Indiana’s LOVE sculpture, conceived in 1966, has been executed in a number of color combinations, and in sizes ranging from 12 to 144 inches. The color combination of gold and blue comes from the colors of the Indiana state flag, and is also seen in The Indiana Obelisk, which he created for the Indiana State Musuem.
A 6-foot version of LOVE (Gold Faces Blue Sides) was included in the exhibition Robert Indiana at Ben Brown Fine Arts, Hong Kong, December 7, 2021–March 8, 2022.
