The Wall was published as part of the portofolio Mémoire de la liberté, published on the occasion of the anniversary of the Universal Declarations of Human Rights. Fifty-five artists were involved in the project, and their works were exibited at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris in October 1991.
Indiana's print addresses the fall of the Berlin Wall, which encircled West Berlin from 1961 to 1989.
