A 50 1/2 by 50 1/2 diamond shaped yellow painting with a black peace sign. The ring around the peace sign is white with black outlines. In it the work's title, "Where Oh Where Hides Peace," is painted in black letters. "Where Oh Where" appears on the top half, and "Hides Peace" appears on the bottom half. A small black circle has been painted to the side of each "where." Black rectangular bands of paint go from the outer edge of the circle to each corner of the triangle.

Description

Where Oh Where Hides Peace, one of 24 Peace Paintings Indiana created in 2003, is a response to 9/11 and a continuation of the political themes found in the artist’s work since his days on Coenties Slip. This painting was first exhibited in Robert Indiana: Peace Paintings, at the Paul Kasmin Gallery, New York, April 21–May 29, 2004. It was also included in Robert Indiana, at the Galleria d'Arte Maggiore, Bologna, Italy, January 23–March 31, 2016.
