Indiana's The Cardinal Numbers (1966), LOVE Wall (1966), The Red Diamond American Dream #3 (1962), Yield Brother II (1963), and the sculpture LOVE (1966–1968) were included in Documenta 4: Internationale Ausstellung in Kassel, Germany. Indiana was commissioned to create a serigraph for the exhibition, and produced Die Deutsche Vier, the numeral four in the colors of the West German flag, black, red, and yellow.
