In Honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. was an exhibition of artworks donated by leading American artists, which were to be sold to benefit the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the civil rights organization largely founded by Dr. King. Held seven months after his assassination, it was the first time the Museum of Modern Art held an exhibition for the benefit of another organization. Indiana donated Love Rising (The Black and White Love) (1968) to the exhibition.
