Indiana was one of four artists, alongside Willem de Kooning, Kenneth Noland, and Larry Rivers, who were invited to design a poster for the opening of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C. His painting The Beware-Danger American Dream #4 (1963) was included in the inagural exhibition.
