New York: 1962–1964 explored a pivotal three-year period in the history of art and culture in New York City, examinging how artists living and working there responded to the events that marked this moment in time. Indiana's work was presented alongside that of artists including Jim Dine, Dan Flavin, Jasper Johns, Donald Judd, Ellsworth Kelly, Yayoi Kusama, Roy Lichtenstein, Marisol, Agnes Martin, Louise Nevelson, Claes Oldenburg, Robert Rauschenberg, Faith Ringgold, James Rosenquist, Miriam Schapiro, George Segal, Mark di Suvero, and Andy Warhol.
