Robert Indiana: The Sweet Mystery marked one of the most significant presentations in Italy to date of Indiana's work. The exhibition, on view at the Procuratie Vecchie, was presented by Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and was an official Collateral Event of the 60th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia. Developed with The Robert Indiana Legacy Initiative, this exhibition offered a revelatory perspective on Indiana’s work, focusing on the central themes of spirituality, identity and the human condition that are key to understanding his creative evolution. Artworks on view spanned six decades of Indiana’s career and included significant early works, some of which had rarely been publicly displayed.
