Robert Indiana's first solo exhibition on the west coast was held at the Rolf Nelson Gallery in Los Angeles. The show presented Indiana’s Numbers series: ten paintings each measuring 60 by 50 inches and ten paintings each 24 inches square. It also included the Indiana's first LOVE painting to be offered for sale, a 24-inch square red, white, and blue work.
