Robert Indiana participated in the exhibtion Signs of the Times Three: Paintings by Twelve Contemporary Pop Artists alongside artists including Allan D'Arcangelo, Steve Durkee, Roy Lichtenstein, Mel Ramos, James Rosenquist, Wayne Thiebaud, Andy Warhol, and Tom Wesselmann. He was represented by three paintings from 1962: The Dietary, Coenties Slip, and Polygon: Nonagon. The exhibition traveled to the Addison Gallery of American Art, Andover, Massachusetts, February 15–March 22, 1964.
