Corten LOVE sculpture with the letter L and a tilted letter O on top of the letters V and E.

Newfields, home to the original LOVE sculpture fabricated in 1970 by Robert Indiana, is celebrating everything about love this year.

The signature sculpture was acquired by the Indianapolis Museum of Art on Oct. 2, 1975. Now 50 years later, it stands prominently in the Pulliam Family Great Hall as a stalwart of the IMA’s permanent collection.

In celebration of the magnificent work of art, Newfields is launching the 50 Years of LOVE campaign. Throughout this year, LOVE will continue to be at the center of Newfields and invites community members to share their love stories as Newfields looks back on the history of this iconic sculpture known as LOVE.
